Blood Moon Rising – A Daughter Awakens
Silverfoot is the nom de plume for Tim Skilton. Many years ago, he put aside writing as an occupation because he thought his wife and three children would like to eat. He became a job gypsy while working his way through school, taking up such diverse occupations as carpenter, library page, bicycle mechanic, and postal worker.
He emerged from school with a teaching credential at the extreme end of the baby boom. School populations were shrinking all over the country, experienced teachers were being laid off in droves, and, with hundreds of experienced for every available position, there was no place for a young, unproven teacher.
His construction experience allowed him to get a general contracting license and he built things for ten years. While attending a school event for his children, he discovered that teachers were in short supply. He happily closed his construction business and entered the world of education.
His job gypsy ways stayed with him though, and he served the public as a teacher, a counselor, a school psychologist, a principal, a Director, and a Specialist in Special Education.
On retiring, he once again took up the pen, but wrote only for himself, having no real interest in publishing his work. But after sharing some stories, his readers suggested that he try it. This is the result.
